Picture Overload Part 1: I.F. Zoo

So, my mom got someone to work for her on a random Wednesday, and so we drove to the I.F. Zoo!! I made a list of things I wanted to do there, like meet up with old friends, and eat specific things, but Isla got tired and ornery after the zoo, so we had to eat sushi in the car and drive all the way back home! Ha! Oh well, that trip was really meant for Isla, so I can't feel bad.  I'll have to come another time without her and do all the things I want to!!

Travy's B-day

So this is probably getting super old (me posting about birthday's all the time) but it's the only time we all get together, and I simply have nothing else to blog about! We did get some family pictures done while we were in Price, so hopefully I'll be posting those soon, but in the mean time, enjoy viewing my brother's b-day party pics!

Total Randomness...in a good way

We went GOLFING!! WooHoo! I can't think of a better way to spend the afternoon.  This was my first outing in a long time.  Travy-pants hit over 300 yds. and landed it right on the green.  We all swore at him and he had to buy us ice cream! :)

Logan River was so green and beautiful and there was tons-o-wildlife.
Travis winding up, Tim and my dad shooting the breeze.

My version of "ombre". I got super bored one day and mixed things up.  I ended up doing a bit more blonde on the ends. Anyhoo I'm finally with the times :)

This made me laugh...Tim was laying out our financial plan for the future i.e. retirement, to make sure we were on the same page and I was doodling. Haha I hope I die before him because I won't know what the heck is going on!

Isla-Roonie-Rue's 2nd B-day (Wow that's a lot of slang)

I have been the worst blogger lately, but I've either been too busy or too tired! Ha! Here is Isla's birthday pics...finally.  Her birthday was on May 1st.  She had no idea what was going on, just that for some reason mommy and daddy were letting her do whatever she wanted.  We ate fruit loops for breakfast, played outside with baby and bubbles.  Then we went to Costco and got raspberries and a watermelon (her favorite). She did eat a grilled cheese sandwich too.  I tried to do a photo shoot, but it didn't really work.  I needed more help!

Isla got a swimming pool and swim toys, swimsuit, sun-g's, animal blocks that make noises when you put the right ends together, a doll, the big-kid flip-flops you see below (I love those toes) and a swing.  Pretty much she got spoiled.

I tried to make a tunic from a pattern (you can see in the first pic) but the tabs you button were huge, and the whole thing was awkward, so the above pic was me just winging it, and I have to say it turned out ok! I also got a pattern to make this cute banner.  I guess I love to sew just a little too much some times. :)

Birthday BBQ Bash

Disclaimer: I LOVE BIRTHDAY'S!! Probably a little too much.  My mom says, "Sometimes your birthday is just another day, and you have to be okay with that."  Sorry mommy, but no you don't. You can run around your backyard naked (check) You can roller-blade through WalMart (check) and you can have your cake and eat it too (check check and double check).
We had a BBQ at my house and the weather was perfect, the food was perfect, and the company was surprisingly entertaining! JK, I love my family.  That's truly all I wanted was to be surrounded by family, and my other mother Debbie aka Nanie got to stay with us for a couple days too to help me with Isla during the wedding.  She deserves a big THANK YOU, and more hugs to come.

This is me being wild, because that's what you do on your birthday :)

My Uncle Karl and Aunt Denise got me this fabulous hat, and Travy-pants (trying to escape behind me) got me those awesome sun-g's! What a perfect B-day I had! I've already decided that next year I'm running away...from 30! Yikes. I hope I stay 29 forever.

Who Doesn't LOVE a Spring Wedding?

Last Friday I had the privilege of going to Madeline Jackson's wedding in the Salt Lake Temple.  I got up early that morning and headed over to her hotel room to do her hair. After too much chatting we ran out of time, and had to rush to get hair and make-up done.  She looked beautiful! It was so fun to just sit in the sealing room, listen to the covenants they were making and see how in love they were! The flowers were beautiful, the day was sunny, and I just soaked it all up! Enjoy!

Quick Trip to I.F.

Soooo...I got the itch to go to Idaho Falls.  My friend Annie (whose middle name Isla holds) had a baby girl and I wanted nothing more than to hold that little bean! I snuggled her almost the whole time I was there! It was heaven! I didn't get a picture though. I'm mad I forgot that (as I documented the rest of my trip) which goes as follows:

Singing (screaming?) Augustana's "20 Years" until my mouth hurts, while I drive through the farmlands...no one knows where I'm from...

City center in sight! I drove past my old house and my heart swelled with homesickness! I might have shed a tear or two, but then I was brave and kept driving to Annie's.

Picked up my other half- Marci Dimick and went to the Hairshow! Apparently when you reach your late 20's to early 30's, the music seems to loud, you can't see as good as you once used to and you yawn all through the show trying to find the 21yr version of yourself that could stay up all hours of the night. Yikes! We had fun!
Marci and I...sure do miss her.
I have to add that I stayed at my parents for Easter, and Tim made an appearance which was wonderful! We had an amazing dinner, and easter egg hunt! Then on Monday night Chelsea and I went on a date to Firehouse and then ICE SKATING!! I totally recommend it! They had music, lights, and pina colada scented dry-ice smoke! We had fantastic time! So, long story short that was probably one of the best weekends I've had in as long as I can remember!

Goings On

Well, to tell you the truth I've been on a bit of a hiatus because of unforeseen trials that snuck up on me, but I'm not sure I want to post about it just yet.  I almost feel like it's taboo, and maybe a little too tender/spiritual for the whole world to read.
On a much happier note, I have gained new perspective and am enjoying life...every minute of it!  My Cousin got married last week and had a fantastic reception.  There was an endless supply of cupcakes, fruit and candy, but the best part was the dancing!! So after the bride and groom shared their first dance, it was time for the father-daughter dance.  It started out so sweet, and it almost makes you want to cry to see a dad dancing with his daughter that he has just "given away" BUT THEN...rap music and the two of them dancing a choreographed hip-hop dance that seriously almost made me pee my pants! I was laughing so hard! I totally didn't expect that.  Her dad and her had been practicing in the garage for weeks. Ahhhh, I loved it!  Isla danced her pants off and ate tons of candy and chased the disco lights on the floor, so pretty much it was her best day ever too!

Puzzle-mania

It all started with this circle farm foam puzzle...the love of her life.  She couldn't get enough of this thing.  She would drag it around from room to room.
Then she found these lovelies with my school stuff.  I bought these at Alco in Dillon MT while visiting Nick and Ashley's Grandma and Grandpa because I was taking boards in a couple of months and was going to use them to study.  I didn't want Isla to play with them because I thought, what's the point? She'll never figure it out! Well long story short she conquered "The Encephalon" and has now just finished "The Digestive System"!! Holy Moly kids are smarter than we think they are!
